Jocelyn Newman whose term was to expired 30.6.02. (Senator Colbeck was elected on 10 November 2001 for the term commencing 1.7.02. However, he was appointed by the Governor of Tasmania in February 2002 to represent that state for the remainder of Senator Newman's term before commencing his own.)
