Location Bass covers an area from Launceston in the south to Flinders Island in the north. The suburbs in the division of Bass include the City of Launceston and its suburbs, Bell bay, Bridport, George Town, Lilydale, Legana, Ringarooma, Scottsdale, Cape Barren Island, Clarke Island, Flinders Island
Origin Bass was named after Dr George Bass (1771-1803), an early settler and explorer. Bass was first proclaimed in 1903. The first election was held for the Division in 1903.
Products/Industries Aluminium and ferrous metal smelting, brewery, cattle (dairy and beef), farming, manufacturing, mining, ports and shipping, ship building, timber, tourism, fishing, wineries and wool.
