Description Inner metropolitan
   
Location Goldstein covers an area from Brighton in the north to Beaumaris in the south and is bordered by Port Phillip Bay to the west. The main suburbs include Beaumaris, Bentleigh, Brighton East, Black Rock, Carnegie, Caulfield South, Cheltenham, Glen Huntly, Hampton, Hampton East, Highett, Ormond and Sandringham.
   
Origin Goldstein was named after Vida Goldstein, the first woman candidate in a national parliamentary election in the British empire. Goldstein was first proclaimed in 1984. The first election was held for the Division in 1984.
   
Products/Industries Mainly residential but also contains some light industrial and commercial activities.
