Location The electoral district of Ashford (formerly Hanson) extends westerly from Goodwood Road to Marion Road and includes residential and light industrial areas from Cowandilla and Hilton in the north, with the most southerly boundary being Delaine Avenue Edwardstown.
   
Origin Orchardist Charles J. Everard settled on his property, Ashford, in 1838. Ashford lent its name to the suburb in 1944, and to the newly created electoral district in 1998.
