Location
| Greatorex takes in the east side of Alice Springs to the Undoolya Station boundary. It is a major regional centre and an international tourist destination for people visiting Uluru and the Red Centre. |

Origin
| The electorate takes its name from the former Centralian Member A G W Tony Greatorex, the Member for Stuart, who was President of the Legislative Council from 1969 to 1974. He died in Alice Springs in 1981. |
