Location This country district is centred on the Eyre Peninsula in the western part of the State and incorporates the Ceduna area.
   
Origin Named after Captain Matthew Flinders, RN (1774-1814) who, in the Investigator, mapped the southern and eastern coastline of Eyre Peninsula. In 1802, he had explored and named Spencer Gulf.
