Location To the northwest of Adelaide, with the western boundary formed by Gulf St Vincent. A residential area, which includes established and new suburbs.
   
Origin Named after Mary Lee (1821-1909) who was a prominent political and social reformer. She was secretary of the Womens' Suffrage League, which campaigned for women to be given the vote, and campaigned for women's trade unions and against 'sweated' labour.
