Description
Urban Residential

Location
Brindabella covers the Canberra suburbs contained in the Tuggeranong Valley region (including the Tuggeranong Town Centre, sited at Greenway) and the rural town of Tharwa. To its south is farmland, the Namadgi National Park and the Kosciuszko National Park.

Origin
The name Brindabella is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning two kangaroo rats. It is also the name of the majestic mountain range to the south and south-west of the ACT. The names for the ACT's electorates were chosen in 1993 with the view that, it being the International Year of the World's Indigenous Peoples, they be given local Aboriginal names.
